Typical Web Site Design and Development MilestonesWe are often asked why it takes so long to design and develop a web site. There is no exact answer to this, as the time will vary based on the complexity of the project, how quickly you respond to requests for feedback and approval of certain stages, as well as how large your web site is.For the most part, however most web sites can be completed within 4-6 weeks. There are a number of variables involved in addition to your timely response to feedback and approval requests, the scope of work will greatly affect the timeline, as well. For example, if you are having us design and develop a custom website, and plan to add all of the content yourself, the average turnaround time will be considerably shorter than if you are having us develop all of the interior pages for you (based on your provided content).Below is an typical timeline for the design and development of a web site. Preliminary Design: 1-2 WeeksAfter we have discussed your web site needs and decide on a plan of action, we send you an invoice. A 50% deposit is paid to reserve your start date on our development schedule.Once your start date arrives, we begin working on the preliminary design for your web site. This takes 1 week for us to complete. At this point, we give you ongoing updates, so that you can review the preliminiary design for your site.Design Review : 2-3 Business Days to 1 Week Per Round (Rinse and Repeat)Once youve had a chance to look over the initial designs, you have the opportunity to provide feedback or request changes. Ideally youll get back to us in 1-2 business days, but weve had some clients take a week or more to get back to us. This is the type of thing that delays the project completion date. So how long this stage takes is really up to youHowever, once you do get back to us with any revisions, the typical turnaround time for relatively simple changes is 2-3 business days. Major changes to the design or requests for an entirely new design concept will take 1 - 2 weeks. We continue this process of fine tuning the design until we have your approval.Development of Additional Website Page or Category Templates: 1 WeekDevelopment of Interior Page Content: 1-4 WeeksThis is where estimating a timeframe gets tricky, because the content and number of pages will vary greatly from site to site.The beauty of a CMS platform is that as a CMS (Content Management System), you are able to easily create all of the interior content pages yourself, without knowledge of HTML. In most cases, clients will just need a custom design that they take and continue to add all of the content pages themselves.If that is the case with your project, you can skip over this step entirely. However, if you prefer to hand off the entire web site to us, we will gladly add all of the interior pages for you (based on your provided content).The timeline for this phase varies greatly depending on the number of pages you are having us develop for you, and if you are prompt with providing us all of the content for the site. If you have a 1-10 page site, for example, we can have the interior pages completed within 1 week. On the other hand, a 50 page web site will likely take closer to 6-10 weeks to complete.Of course, if you are not prompt with providing all content for the pages, or if you frequently make revisions to previously approved content that you had already provided us with, that will slow down this stage as well.Launch of Web Site (Installation and Setup): 1 WeekOnce we have your approval on the design and any content pages weve created for you, we will send you a final invoice for the completed work. We do require final payment of the invoice before transferring everything from our Client Studio to your server. Once we receive the balance, however, we immediately get to work installing your website, a core set of essential plugins, the custom files, and any content pages that we created for you, over to your own web server or hosting that we've set up for you.After the transfer is complete, we run through a final set of tests to be sure that everything is functional, and you are all set! This marks the official launch of your web site, making it Live for the viewing public.Web Site Maintenance: 2-3 Business Days to 1 WeekWith CMS driven site, you will be able to easily add and update content on your own. However if you want to hire us to make future updates for you and any minor design revisions, we are more than happy to continue working with you.We offer several Maintenance Plans where we will update your web site for you, on a regular basis, at reduced rates. Alternatively, we also offer hourly maintenance if you only anticipate needing infrequent updates on an as-needed basis.Non-CMS sites are updated by our dseign team - management plans will be discussed prior to starting a project.Simple updates to your web site are completed within 2-3 business days. Larger changes can take up to 1 week or more, depending on exactly what you need to have done.

Do you offer Refunds?

NO we do NOT offer Refunds for any services due to the fact that a desinger's time cannot be returned. We do however work with our client's to ensure full satisfaction (to realistic degree).

If a client is fully unhappy with any service (s) we will work with the client to come up with a reasonable fee for the changes with a discounted rate.

TERMS Below is an outline of our standard terms and conditions. Please take time to read through thoroughly and ensure you understand these terms and conditions before you commence a project with Trend Website Design.Commencement of work"The Client" agrees to provide written approval or emailed approval of this submission before any work is commenced, as a Letter of Agreement between "The Client" and "Trend Website Design" concerning the work outlined in the Trend Website Design Project Proposal.Payment"The Client" agrees to pay a non-refundable 50% deposit of the quoted amount to commence any project, with the balance payable prior to completion. If the work time exceeds 4 calendar weeks in duration, "The Client" agrees to a progress payment of 50% of the balance per month until the conclusion of the project, with any outstanding amount payable in full upon completion.Fees for serviceIt is agreed that the fee for service shall be the cost estimates provided on page 2 of this submission, unless work undertaken exceeds work outlined. If work undertaken exceeds the items specified on page 2 of this submission, "The Client" agrees to pay appropriate fees for the excess work.Excess workThis is defined as any work involving additions to the list of items defined in the Project Proposal or changes to all pieces of finished artwork after sign off by an authorized representative of "The Client".Liability regarding work and materials providedIt is agreed that all work and materials provided for "The Client "by Trend Website Design" will be free and clear of all liens and encumbrances and may be lawfully used by "The Client" without infringing upon the rights of others including, and without limiting the generality of the foregoing, any copyright trade secret patent or trade mark rights of any third party.Approval of Final Work"The Client" to proof read and approve all final copy before the production of artwork. The email verification of the Clients Representative shall be conclusive as to the approval of all artwork prior to their release for printing, implementation or installation. While Trend Website Design takes all care to avoid errors, "Trend Website Design" accepts no responsibility for typographical errors, spelling mistakes, or incorrect information on any project approved by a client. No refunds or reprints are given after a final approved design has gone to print due oversights by "The Client's" proof reading.Colour Variations (web & print)Website Design Colours may vary on different monitors. For print projects colour variations from what you have seen on screen, to what the final product looks like, and previous orders. This is due to the nature of printing and bulk-run printing system.
